Panhandle Emergency Response System meeting began at 7:06 p.m. on
September 10, 2009 at Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch.

Training
Canyon Fire School is Saturday September 19
Basic Fire Fighting School in White Deer September 21st.
- Class will be held the 3rd Monday night of every
month.
- Contact Brad Britton for more information.
Borger will be burning down a house on September 28th on
Bunton Street from 8:30-6:00. This will be training for their new fire
fighter’s on the Compressed Air Foam System.
National Park Service is putting together a training schedule. They
are requesting input from the area fire departments for classes that
need to be in the schedule. Send emails to Alan at awwells@sbcglobal.net
Panhandle Regional Fire Academy organizational meeting will be held
on Monday, September 21st at Canyon Fire Station.
Bylaws-
- Discussed proposal of changing the meeting from monthly to
bi-monthly or even quarterly to increase participation in the
organization.
Accountability –
- Nothing new to report.
New Business
- Discussion regarding participation with the PERS organization.
- Items that need attention with PERS
- Review the Mission Statement
- Establish Objectives
- Consider a Central Location to conduct meetings instead of
bouncing around the area
- Use the website as a tool for finding resources
- Develop better communications
- Conduct training at each meeting, so that people will leave with
something other than just a free meal.
- A Special Meeting will be held on Thursday, September 24th
at the Fritch City Annex to discuss the above items
- Representatives for the Panhandle Regional Fire Academy.
