  1. Call to Order

    Panhandle Emergency Response System meeting began at 7:06 p.m. on September 10, 2009 at Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch.

  3. Treasurers Report
    1. As of 09/10/2009, the balance is $7,471.39
  4. Training
    1. Canyon Fire School is Saturday September 19
    2. Basic Fire Fighting School in White Deer September 21st.
      1. Class will be held the 3rd Monday night of every month.
      2. Contact Brad Britton for more information.
    3. Borger will be burning down a house on September 28th on Bunton Street from 8:30-6:00. This will be training for their new fire fighter’s on the Compressed Air Foam System.
    4. National Park Service is putting together a training schedule. They are requesting input from the area fire departments for classes that need to be in the schedule. Send emails to Alan at awwells@sbcglobal.net
    5. Panhandle Regional Fire Academy organizational meeting will be held on Monday, September 21st at Canyon Fire Station.

     

  5. Bylaws-
    1. Discussed proposal of changing the meeting from monthly to bi-monthly or even quarterly to increase participation in the organization.
  6. Accountability
    1. Nothing new to report.

  7. New Business
    1. Discussion regarding participation with the PERS organization.
    2. Items that need attention with PERS
      1. Review the Mission Statement
      2. Establish Objectives
      3. Consider a Central Location to conduct meetings instead of bouncing around the area
      4. Use the website as a tool for finding resources
      5. Develop better communications
      6. Conduct training at each meeting, so that people will leave with something other than just a free meal.
    3. A Special Meeting will be held on Thursday, September 24th at the Fritch City Annex to discuss the above items
