Panhandle Emergency Response System meeting began at 7:32 p.m. on May 22,
2008 at Perryton Fire Department.

Treasurers Report
PERS has $ 3,459.69 in the account
Deposit two checks from Spearman and Boys Ranch
Invoices have been sent out – need to update mailing list and send
invoices for payment.
The two checks that have not cleared the bank are not outstanding
checks
- IRS owes PERS $231.21
Need to address pay taxes either quarterly or yearly
- Calvin made a motion to use contract and submit a 1099 instead
of a W2

Drill Committee
Conoco Phillips E&P, is putting together a drill for August 11-15,
2008
- A large range fire with wildland urban interface
- Area-The range fire will start along highway 207 South of Borger
and jump the road to spread along the same area of the March 12,
2006 fire path.
- Objectives
- Working together with multiple fire and emergency agencies
- Activating the PERS response
- Addressing property & civilians concerns
- Attacking the fire
- Counties already involved with the drill are Hutchinson and
Carson. Trying to get in contact with Grey and Roberts County to
participate in the event.
- June 19th 8:00 a.m. @ the Borger Phillips building Rm
131 a meeting will be held to finalize the drill.
- BP, Excel, and Eagle Rock are interested in joining
- Shane and Jason will go to Sweetwater Association to see if they
want to participate in drill.
Training
The 300 and 400 classes were held in Borger May 15-16
- Ron will set up classes –August 16-17 and August 23-24
- The classes will be held at Stinnett Community Building
- 25 people is the maximum registration for the classes
- Need to Register before attending class
- Ron will put a registration form on the website along with
instructions for enrolling in the I-300 and 400 courses.
NWCG Courses from the National Park Service are available on an as
needed basis
Call the Park Service if there is a class you want them to put on
- A nomination form will be required to ensure enough people will
attend the classes
- As courses are offered, they will be posted on the PERS web
site
